Nappy Roots’ Rapper R. Prophet Tasered, Pepper Sprayed & Arrested On 4/20

Nappy Roots’ rapper R. Prophet was tasered and pepper sprayed several times during his arrest on 4/20.

We heard about Snoop Dogg’s problems on 4/20 over the weekend, with the rapper’s party celebrating the day getting shut down by the cops. Now, more news comes in about 4/20 debacles, this time involving Nappy Roots rapper R. Prophet.

R. Prophet had a run-in with the Kentucky State Police on 4/20, which resulted in him getting tasered, pepper-‘ssprayed, and arrested. According to the local news source, WLKY, the rapper was in a car that was pulled over by the cops at a DUI checkpoint the morning of April 20th.

Prophet was not immediately arrested, but offered the chance to call someone to pick him up from his location. However, he started demonstrating strange behavior, indicating he was under the influence.

“The guy refused to quit walking into the roadway. It was obvious to our troopers he was severely intoxicated,” said a Kentucky State Police trooper. Eventually, the police attempted to arrest the Southern rapper, however he allegedly resisted. The cops had to taser him several times to get the handcuffs on him, and then several more times to get him into the squad car.

Once Prophet was in the backseat of the car, he began banging his head on the side of the window, forcing cops to taser him again, and pepper spray him, before finally restraining him a seat belt.

The police said of his complicated arrest, “I think due to his high level of intoxication. I think he just didn’t want to go along with the program.”

The Nappy Roots group member was charged with alcohol intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and assaulting a police officer. Prophet was released the following day on bail.

Snoop Dogg’s 4/20 Party Gets Shut Down By Cops

A celebration of 4/20 was shut down at Snoop Dogg’s home in L.A. If anyone would plan day-long festivities for a weed-smoking holiday, it would be Snoop Dogg. However, the party planned by the rapper seemed to be too much for his neighbors to handle, as his 4/20 party was shut down by the cops earlier today, before it even really got started. Apparently the weed-loving rapper held a “Snoop Lion 4/20 Festival” at his home in the Hollywood Hills. The party kicked off around 11 A.M., but didn’t last long, as multiple neighbors of Snoop weren’t feeling as celeberatory. They complained to the cops about the noise levels and the parking situation. On top of this, TMZ reports that Snoop didn’t have a permit. The police quickly arrived and put an end to the celebrations, although it is reported that no one there was cited, and Snoop wasn’t present.

Snoop Lion/Dogg To Release Reggae Album "Reincarnated" With RCA Records

Snoop Lion announces that his reggae album and documentary film, “Reincarnated” will be dropping via RCA Records, in 2013.

Snoop Lion, also known as Snoop Dogg, has found an outlet to release his reggae album and documentary, Reincarnated.

The documentary for Reincarnated contains footage from Snoop Lion’s trip to Jamaica, and features music from the accompanying soundtrack. The film grabbed a spot at the Toronto International Film Festival this year. The album will have production from the Major Lazer team, and Diplo has been named the executive producer. The reggae LP will drop via RCA Records, thanks to a newly signed deal between the rapper and label. As Snoop announced today, he plans to release it in Spring of 2013.
